Biography
Maureen Healy is the founder of Growing Happy Kids, and parenting author of 365 Perfect Things to Say to Your Kids. Her work has literally taken her around the world to foster children’s positive emotional health. Creative Visions Foundation named her a “Creative Activist” for her work with Tibetan refugee children at the Base of the Himalayas and The Simha Foundation distributes her “Peace Curriculum for Preschoolers” worldwide to plant the seeds of peace.
Healy’s expertise in children’s emotionalhealth has been seen on ABC’s View from the Bay and is presented in her popular blog on Psychology Today’s website titled “Creative Development.” Additionally, her work has been featured in Spirituality & Health, Pure Inspiration and Parenting magazines as well as radio shows around the world. She also is a frequent workshop leader at conferences like this year’s Mind Body Spirit Festival in London.
Most unique about Maureen is her ability to “bring the wisdom of the east to western adults focused upon raising happier kids” stated ABC’s Christian Spencer.
Such insight is grounded in 20 years of experience in the field of Psychology as well as studying Buddhism in the United States and Asia. Healy herself has had the great fortune of studying with Tibetan Masters as well as creating children’s dharma programs across the US and Europe. Her formal academic credentials include a BA in Psychology, MBA and MA program in clinical psychology.
